NOAA’S GRAY’S REEF NATIONAL MARINE SANCTUARY SPONSORS THE SECOND ANNUAL SAVANNAH OCEAN FILM FESTIVAL

Join the sanctuary for the Savannah Ocean Film Festival for three days of free films and videos about the ocean and mankind’s relationship to the marine and coastal environments on September 23, 24, and 25, 2005, at the Tybee Island Marine Science Center. The festival will include more than 15 films and a free special children’s program.

WHAT: The Savannah Ocean Film Festival is designed to educate, inspire, entertain and foster a spirit of ocean stewardship through the screening of films that explore our relationship with the sea.

WHEN: September, 23, 24, and 25. Film start times will vary.

WHERE: Trustees Theater, Broughton Street, downtown Savannah, GA, and Tybee Island Marine Science Center on the beach at Tybee Island.

The event last year was highly successful and well attended. This year the sanctuary will broaden the activities to include art and music elements and engage area community organizations to celebrate the importance and uniqueness of the sanctuary.

NOAA’s National Marine Sanctuaries are established to protect areas that encompass unique or significant natural and cultural features while allowing people to use and enjoy the ocean in a sustainable way.
